A few words from our Founder, Sebastian Bates.
On a training camp in the mountains of Chang Mai (Northern Thailand), 8 rounds into some tough training at the end of a 3 hour training session, in 30-degree heat, I asked my Instructor….
“Why are you always so happy?
“If it’s not ‘sanuk’ it’s not worth doing.”
The Thai concept of sanuk often gets translated as meaning ‘fun’. But sanuk is more than having fun; it’s about striving to achieve satisfaction and pleasure from whatever you do.
I understand now that creating an environment where you / your team can have fun, smile, laugh and enjoy their work and lifestyle is absolutely vital. This ethos trickles down through our team to our students and our parents.
We have such an excellent culture in the Warrior Academy. Our small, close-knit team of incredible people (in and out the dojo!) absolutely love what we do because we know the impact we make in the lives of our young students.
Our passion for our mission is visible from watching our Warrior team in action, in class, at events, in our videos online and even in the blogs, articles and books we publish!
When you are part of our ‘Behind the scenes’ Warrior team… you can expect to train with us weekly, meet up for regular social events, take up team challenges, be part of an exciting, fast-paced, energetic and passionate team and most importantly… have fun!
We are constantly looking to expand with new partners, new instructors and brand ambassadors. So if you want to help us on our mission to solve meaningful problems in the world get in touch.
Aish is the go to person for all queries in the Warrior Academy. She helps to coordinate classes, book venues for competitions and communicate with parents and schools about important events, like your grading! Along side this, Aish is a qualified fitness instructor and has always been involved in sport since being a child. It helped to shape her into a disciplined and motivated adult who is able to balance her love for the Warrior Academy, with her love of teaching Pilates! The Warrior Academy’s ethos, of helping children with their confidence, realise their potential and helping them grow into disciplined young adults is everything Aish believes in and she loves having a role in the Warrior Academy community helping with this. She loves hearing the great feedback from parents about how their child is enjoying the classes and growing in all aspects, she especially loves the Warrior Academy Staff training days, where she gets to learn Martial Arts as well. Hopefully one day, she will have her white belt too!”
